Hotel Lima in Marbella: A Family Legacy Transformed into a Modern and Charming Hotel

The Hotel Lima in Marbella has been a classic in the city since it first opened its doors in 1965. Founded by Paco Lima, it has been passed down from generation to generation, with Maria Luisa and Juan Lima taking charge for several decades, and now their children, Celia, Marta, Nines, Alejandro, and Chiqui, at the helm. However, the hotel underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2020, transforming it into a modern and charming 4-star hotel while still preserving its family essence and legacy.

Now run by the third generation of the Lima family, the hotel has retained its family essence and a close-knit relationship with its staff, some of whom have been with the company since the beginning. This is a testament to the Lima family’s commitment to preserving the hotel’s history, legacy, and essence, while still providing guests with a modern and comfortable stay.

The Lima family invested 2.6 million Euros and over a year and a half of work to renovate the hotel, which reopened on July 1, 2020. The new modern building is located on one of the most central streets in Marbella, just 200 meters away from the promenade and the beach. Today, the Hotel Lima offers guests all the comforts of a 4-star hotel with a unique “vintage” touch, ensuring a memorable and pleasant stay.

One of the most striking features of the renovated hotel is the name of its first restaurant, “Virazón“, which the family has restored, meaning the wind that blows from the sea towards the land. Guests can observe old decorative elements that existed before and have been beautifully integrated into the new space restoration, adding a touch of elegance and nostalgia.

Hotel Lima offers a variety of services and amenities to make its guests’ stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city and the sea, where guests can relax and soak up the sun. It also has a swimming pool, a bar, and a restaurant that offers a delicious and varied menu of Mediterranean cuisine. The top floor of the new building houses the swimming pool, the solarium, and a rooftop bar, where guests can relax and soak up the Marbella sun while enjoying a refreshing drink. The hotel’s innovative lighting system is another unique feature. The colors of the façade change on special days, holidays, and in support of various causes, creating a welcoming and festive atmosphere.

The hotel’s location is unbeatable, and guests will appreciate the convenience of staying in the heart of Marbella. The hotel is only a few meters from the promenade, the marina, and the beach, making it an ideal choice for water sports enthusiasts. The old town of Marbella is also nearby, offering a plethora of museums, restaurants, and the remains of the Marbella castle wall dating from the 10th century. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through its beautiful streets and squares, soaking up the atmosphere of this charming city -, its white houses, and its typical Andalusian patios. It is also close to the beach, where guests can enjoy the sun and the sea, and to the city’s main attractions, such as the Puerto Banús marina, the Alameda Park, and the Plaza de los Naranjos.

With over thirty high-level gastronomic restaurants in the vicinity, guests can indulge in a variety of culinary delights during their stay. The hotel’s comfortable rooms with splendid beds provide the perfect environment for a restful night’s sleep, ensuring guests wake up feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

In conclusion, the renovated Hotel Lima in Marbella is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Its family essence, unique décor, innovative lighting, and excellent location make it an ideal choice for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
