Quique Dacosta of Denia was lately chosen by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants group which is one of the most prestigious international lists in the gastronomic scene, as one of the favourite places to dine in the world. The gala took place in the beautiful City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, the chef’s hometown.
“I am very happy for this recognition; it is a pride for my team and me to represent Spain and the Valencian Community among so many restaurants and colleagues from around the world whom I admire,” the chef said after learning about his 20th position in the ranking.
Quique Dacosta restaurant already has three Michelin stars and is currently one of the top twenty in the world. This Spanish chef climbed more than 20 positions in the list compared to 2022. And the result is that now he is in a privileged position that also represents a great opportunity for the region.
This is a recognition that makes the renowned chef very happy, who after a 35-year professional career in gastronomy achieved his best position of all time in this list. “I am fortunate to be part of the 50 Best family for over fifteen years, and we have always acknowledged the difficulty and challenge of ordering the gastronomic world in a list of fifty positions. I am very grateful to all those who visit us and consider our work interesting for the world,” he commented happily and gratefully.
Dacosta has also taken the opportunity to congratulate all the restaurants that have made it into the list: “For me, all the colleagues who are here today could all perfectly occupy the number one spot; I congratulate them and especially Virgilio Martínez and Pía León for the exceptional work they do from Peru. They are all undoubtedly brilliant and inspiring,” he concluded.
Recently, it was announced that three restaurants from the Quique Dacosta Group ranked among the top 100 in Europe according to Opinionated About Dining, the most prestigious list on the continent.
Now The World’s 50 Best Restaurants considers the flagship restaurant of the chef in Denia as one of the best restaurants in the world. The successes continue for this Spanish chef. With twelve restaurants spread across Madrid, London, Valencia, and Denia, he was recently awarded the Gold Medal of Fine Arts for his contribution to Art through cuisine, achieving a historic milestone in his career.
